Using onboard batteries makes railroading fun again. Imagine no layout wiring, no reverse loop nightmares, and no track or wheel cleaning. Best of all, a stuttering or constantly stalling locomotive will run smoothly since it no longer relies on its poor pickups and wheels for power. 

More importantly, there is no need to purchase additional DCC programming equipment because our most popular T5000 AirWire throttle is also a complete, self-contained DCC programmer. Use the T5000 to easily select and setup all of the decoder's options and fine tune its operation. 

Very small size - 0.6 x 2.4 x 0.25 inches. The new AIRWIREmicroDECODER is sized to fit very small spaces found in HO narrow hooded diesel locomotives. 

Operating voltage is optimized for 12VDC. The battery voltage range is 8.2V to 18V. 

It uses the same super sensitive radio receiver as our larger decoders providing excellent range even in the presence of interfering motor noise. The radio receiver is compatible with both current and legacy AIRWIRE handheld throttles. . 

There are two antenna options available. The two versions allow you to select between smallest size or best range. The first option has an internal circuit board antenna. The second option comes with a removable 3 inch whip antenna. An optional cable adapter allows the use of other antennas. 

17 Unique AIRWIRE Radio Frequencies are standard. Group operation is easy with 17 frequencies from which to choose. And they can be changed at any time directly from the throttle. Only with separate frequencies can multiple throttles operate simultaneously without jamming each other. This insures nearly instantaneous response to any throttle command which is essential for sound decoders. 

A fully protected motor driver provides plenty of power for HO locomotives. The a high current output driver is fully protected against overloads, short circuits and overheating. The decoder is rated at 1.5A continuous and will support a 5A surge making it suitable for nearly all HO locomotive motors. 

Exquisite slow speed control is easily achieved since dirty track or dirty wheels are no longer a problem. It uses silky smooth and quiet supersonic motor drive, and also has constant speed cruise control. No more hesitation, jumping or stalling as a result of dirty track or wheels. 

Constant speed cruise control is built-in. Just like your car, your locomotive will maintain a set speed regardless of track grade or load. 

4 built-in light drivers are included; front & rear headlight drivers plus 2 auxiliary light drivers. Incandescent bulbs or LEDs may be used. 16 special lighting effects may be assigned to any of the light drivers.
